CGAA Summer Speed Paint Challenge: Flaming June
I no longer have photoshop :( Working in Sai painter. I no longer have pretty texture brushes, and I have no idea how to use the software, really. So, I'm limited to the brush tool!

Speed Painting
Here is a speed painting (10~ mins) I drew on photoshop. It has been drawn heavily sleep deprived, but at around 4am when the sun is rising and the world is still but crisp, dimly lighted and pink, I just want to draw & reflect. I have done a lot of speed paintings so far this summer/spring break but I am always reluctant to save them. Trying to make saving a habit!
perhaps the girl ruins it but it's all drawn on one layer, and I CTRL+Z'd as much as I could. No turning back now!

Unit 3: Story Telling - Character, Costume & Enviroment Design
I decided re-design his outfit for his "ultimate form", hehe. I wanted to make it more tropical and more in the spirit of the parrot world rather than roses like the design before.
A quick design of what the dad will look like from sketches on my story board. I haven't drawn emotions yet as I'm still not 100%
Smoothing out the penguin rookery a bit. This enviroment still isn't finished, it's lacking something. The glass on the left side will be water where you can see the penguins swim - and the right is where the audience stand. It's important that the people are in the open so they can drop stuff into the keep.
It looks dark, as intended, at the end I was thinking of having the keep well lit when Gie finally can express himself within his home.

Unit 3: Story Telling; Speed Paint

Unit 3: Story Telling; Speed paints/ideas
Maybe a bit too early to be thinking about environments, but drawing these was so therapeutic.

Project 3: Story telling speed paints
I'm finding it difficult to get the story I want to tell down in words, It seems to lack the real emotion which i think I can only express through drawing.
I speed paint every day on photoshop, but I often don't save my work. Today's sketches didn't really work for me in terms of actual drawings, but I think there's a strong emotion about to be expressed. I don't yet think these drawings fully express the scenes, but it's a beginning and I feel is the best way for me to get my ideas down.
I feel like the first picture needs orange, somewhere... Maybe a light coming from the view point? But I didn't have time to add more, I limited my time for these.

CGAA Speed Paint Challenege Day 1 - development
I liked the idea of the 3rd image of my last set of speed paints, though the drawing it self was pretty weak. I took it further for 8 minutes just to clarify the scene a bit better
It's still pretty messy and still doesn't look like a waterfall of tinsel ahaha, but yay for pink!
I ran out of time to bring back the wires to add the vine-jungley affect.

CGAA Speed paint Challenge - Day 1
A Christmas Tree Jungle...
The last picture may be hard to read, but it's supposed to be a waterfall of tinsel. I wanted a pink drawing but it ended up a hot mess! Ahaha
Was still fun, nether the less!
I limited my self to 5 mins each, which is why they're quite blocky. The last one I think has the best idea, but weakest in drawing. I'd like to develop it more!

Speed painting
Seeing everyone speed painting is great and it's amazing to see everyone getting better with each post
I got pretty bored with this by the end. I need to break a habit of doing the same thing, i need to draw back to the earliest tutorials we had and get some erratic shapes down before I draw.
Here's what I got anyway! I think the lack of energy is obvious
And I was painting with the colours of the wind in the first picture.
I really like the 3rd I want to develop it further but I'm lacking any ideas.

Speed painting
After our photoshop lessons I tried the 5 minute limit to drawings, and then developing for 5 minutes more. I made a few rubbish ones, but this one I used in my presentation, so I felt the need to post this one!
The colours don't really match the scene but I really love these deep aquas, purples and oranges.
